In October 2013, JSC "NAC "Kazatomprom" through the Kazakh-Russian joint venture CJSC" UEC " became a shareholder of JSC "Ural Electrochemical Plant", which is the largest enterprise on uranium enrichment. This cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy has enabled the company to gain access to uranium enrichment services. At the same time, in order to create the conversion of production, "Kazatomprom" is working on transfer of innovative technologies in Kazakhstan.

For nearly 40 years, a subsidiary of "Kazatomprom" - Ulba Metallurgical Plant provides services for reconversion and production of uranium dioxide fuel pellets for VVER type reactors, RBMK reactors, PWR.
In the future, the national atomic company of Kazakhstan intends to establish a presence in other links of the nuclear fuel cycle, both independently and in alliance with major international energy companies.
