Access to rich fields of uranium will allow Kazatomprom to provide its production processes with local, raw materials for many decades to come. The extraction of natural uranium is conducted in an ecologically safe and economically sound method of underground, borehole lixiviation (UBL) which ensures the technological leadership of the company in a low-cost segment. It is unique in that UBL excludes direct participation of personnel in the course of production. Kazakhstan uranium concentrate provides more than 40% of the demand for peaceful nuclear power and is delivered to all countries of the world where the NPPs are operated.
Kazatomprom works under long-term agreements with the leading international companies in the energy sector, and has never failed to fulfil product delivery throughout the company’s history. This reputation for success is especially valuable in the uranium market.
