Press Release: Irkol Uranium Mine Opening Ceremony
The official opening ceremony for a new in-situ leaching deposit - Irkol - with a production capacity of 750 tonnes of uranium per annum was held in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region on April 28, 2009. It is the first mine to be put into commercial operation within the framework of Kazakhstan-Chinese cooperation in the sphere of nuclear power.

Press Release: Official Planting Ceremony on Sakura Avenue Following Donation by The Toshiba Corporation
A planting ceremony to mark the official opening of Sakura Avenue has taken place close to the Almaty city administration building. The Sakura nursery plants were donated by the Toshiba corporation to the people of the Republic of Kazakshtan.

Karim Masimov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has led the opening ceremony, within the Khorassan-1 site of the Khorassan North Deposit (in the Zhanakorgan District of the Kyzylorda Region), of the first in-situ uranium mine, in Kazakhstan, to feature a production capacity of 3,000 tonnes of uranium per annum.
