Information Report on Singing Procedure of Constituent Documents of Three Joint Russian-Kazakhstani Enterprises

A singing procedure of constituent documents of three joint Russian-Kazakhstani enterprises in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy was held in Moscow on October 12, 2006. Singed documents establish participation of Russian and Kazakhstani organizations in the JV on parity basis with equal shares in the authorized capital.

Akbastau JV (place of registration – Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan) is established for exploration of Yuzhnoye Zarechnoye deposit and blocks of Budenovskoye uranium deposit on the territory of Kazakhstan with a view to provide reactors of Russian design with fuel.

Uranium Enrichment Center JV (place of registration – Angarsk, Irkutsk region, Russian Federation).

Nuclear Stations JV (place of registration – Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan) is created for development and promotion of a new type nuclear reactor VBER-300 with energy blocks at the markets of Russia, Kazakhstan and Third Countries. Today the JV aims at joint refining upon design estimate documentation of this reactor.

As it was mentioned earlier, a new type nuclear reactor VBER-300 with energy blocks will become an export point of the Russian-Kazakhstani Nuclear Stations JV to Third Countries. Its design is based on tested and reliable models of reactors of the USSR Navy, having more than 6000 reactor/years of trouble-free operation. Due to its technical characteristics this reactor will be a reactor of the last generation. And taking into consideration its capacity of 300 MWt, it will be a single reactor with such great capacity and being demanded at the market.

Establishment of the abovementioned enterprises was envisaged in memorandums, signed on July 25, 2006 by JSC Techsnabexport, CJSC Atomstroiexport and JSC NSAC Kazatomprom in the course of the working meeting of Mr. Akhmetov D.K., the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Mr. Kirienko S.V., head of Rosatom and became the first practical step in realization of priority tasks aimed at integration of enterprises of nuclear industry complex of Russian and Kazakhstan, defined by Mr. Putin V.V., President of the Russian Federation  and Mr. Nazarbaev N.A.., President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a joint declaration concerning cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, made on January 25, 2006.
