Press-release on Kazatomprom’s performance indicators for 9 months of 2012

In the 3rd quarter of 2012 the enterprises of NAC Kazatomprom JSC has fulfilled the production program and reached the planned performance indicators.

Uranium production volume of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 9 months made up 15,080 tU (which is 8 % higher in comparison with the same period of the previous year).
 
Kazatomprom accounts for 8,601 tU of the total uranium production volume in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and this is approximately 8% more in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
 
Kazatomprom’s consolidated income for 9 months of 2012 made up 203.4 bln. tenge that is 23% lower than in the corresponding period of 2011. The decrease was due to the transfer of uranium supplies to the last quarter of the current year, as well as the decrease of the uranium spot indicator in the second half of 2012.
 
Net income for July –September of the current year made up 25.0 bln. tenge. 
 
In comparison with 9 months of 2011, the production indicators of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC illustrate 13% increase of the beryllium output, and 17% increase of the tantalum production.
 
MAEK-Kazatomprom LLP produced more than 3, 401 mln. kW*hour of electric power, 2, 180 ths. Gcal of heat energy for the consumers of Aktau and Mangistau region for 9 months of 2012. These indicators fully correspond to the production plans of Kazatomprom.
