Press Release: II International Scientific-Practical Conference 'Issues of Uranium Industry'

The II International Scientific-Practical Conference 'Issues of Uranium Industry' started its work today, on the 10th of July, 2002. The organizer of the conference is National Atomic Company 'Kazatomprom' with the assistance of the Institute of High Technologies Ltd.

Uranium industry development is accompanied by the growth of science intensive and high technology production. The industry needs sufficient scientific provision, integration and interchange of entities for further competitive operation. This conference is intended to reveal the most critical technological, environmental and economic issues of uranium facilities with the purpose of their successful development, to discuss and outline the ways of their solution, to strengthen and engage the potential of profile organizations and entities' scientists and specialists.

The next topics will be discussed: 'Uranium mining and uranium products production technologies', 'Nuclear fuel production technologies', 'Environmental and production safety issues', 'The issues of buildings, constructions and equipment protection from exposures'. The scope of questions to be brought up on the conference will be much wider than on the I conference that took place two years ago. The legal, macroeconomic, PR and educational issues of nuclear complex are added. The specialists and scientists of largest industrial companies, Universities and institutes of Russia, France, Canada, Germany, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan and Kazakhstan take part in the Conference. The total number of participants is 240.

The Conference will be held on July 10-13, 2002.
