Press Release: The II Sports Contest
08.07.2002Annual Sports and Athletics competition between KAZATOMPROM enterprises Grand Opening Ceremony run today, 8th July.
The Company Top Management and guests invited addressed to the event participants with welcoming speech. Among speakers there were Mrs. A. Cherkashina, Member of Parliament and Mr. A. Cherskoy, Chairman of the Atomic Energy and Related Industries Trade Union.
During the five days, 8-12 July, hundreds of participants from different regions of Kazakhstan will be competing in volleyball, mini-football, table tennis, athletics, arm-wrestling.
This year Sports and Athletics is perfectly congruous with the President of Kazakhstan Degree No.751 of 30.12.2001 of 2002 being a Year of Health and it also coincides with the Company’s fifth anniversary.

The international level referees A. Nikishin, V. Ageeva, Chief Secretary, V. Dreksler, G. Vafina, A. Taranova, A. Konakbay are invited to umpire the games. KAZATOMPROM Board Members decided to appoint President Moukhtar Dzhakishev the Chief Referee.
KAZATOMPROM Sports and Athletics - 2001 was held in Ust- Kamenogorsk, where Ulba squad won the Main Prize.
The most exciting mini-football match is expected at final stage of the event - the official mini-football winner will play for the Trade Union Challenge Cup against the team of Top managers of all the facilities of KAZATOMPROM.
The whole idea of the Sports and Athletics -2002 is popularization of healthy live style and encouraging corporate spirit amongst the Company's 10,000 employees.
