Press Release: The Indicative Development Program of Kazatomprom for 2004-2006 approved

On February 16, 2004, the republican budget committee in c. Astana has approved the Indicative Development Program of the National Atomic Company KAZATOMPROM for the period of 2004-2006.

According to the Indicative Development Program of the National Atomic Company KAZATOMPROM submitted for 2004-2006, the investment projects will be implemented at company's own expense. Total investments in 2004-2006 will amount to KZT 26,4 billion and will be allocated for the development of all directions of the company.

Consolidated income from the products sale will increase by 44% in 2006 compared with the figure of 2003 and will amount to KZT 47 billion. Net income of the company is expected to be doubled compared with the figure 2003 and will grow to KZT 5,9 billion. Implementation of the Development Program of NAC Kazatomprom will enable to increase the taxes and deductions to the budget by 45% in 2006 compared to that in 2003 that will amount to KZT 6 billion.

Apart from the Indicative Development Program of the National Atomic Company 'Kazatomprom', President of the Company, Mr. M. Dzhakishev, raised some social and legal issues, such as rehabilitation of the heat supply system in one of the industrial communities; rebuilding and construction of the highways used for transportation of the company's cargoes and so on. The budget committee forwarded those issues for consideration and decision to the respective ministries and departments.
