Karatau

Karatau LLP was established on May 27, 2005 for development of Site №2 of the Budenovskoye uranium deposit, located in South Kazakhstan. The Company mines uranium by the in-situ leaching method within the framework of the realization of Kazatomprom’s strategy “15 000 U, MT by 2010”.

Karatau completed construction of a shift camp and a plant for uranium reprocessing in 2006.

The same year a technology for component blocks acidulation was launched. 

Capacities for reprocessing saturated solutions with eluate production were put into operation in 2007.

Karatau plans to construct, and put it into operation, a refinery plant by 2009.

Social protection and privileges for employees cover all structural divisions of Karatau. In particular employees are rewarded on retirement and on jubilees and professional holidays.

Genayat Satybaldin is Karatau's acting Director General.
