Zarechnoye
JV Zarechnoye JSC was established for joint operation of the Zarechnoye uranium deposit located on the territory of South Kazakhstan's Otrarski region. The founders are Kazatomprom, Uranium Mining Company (Russian Federation) and Karabalty Mining Complex (Kyrgyz Republic).The tasks of JV include uranium production by the in-situ leaching method, primary reprocessing of saturated solutions with yellow cake as an end-product and export of U3O8.
The Zarechnoye deposit designed capacity of 1000 tons of natural uranium per year is expected to be reached by 2011.
Between 2009 and 2014 the company plans geological exploration with pilot production of uranium at the South Zarechnoye deposit and further construction of an ISL mine with a capacity of 600 tons of natural uranium per annum. The company will implement its activity at the two deposits up until 2038.
The company implements its production activity in full compliance with the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan related to environmental protection.
Within the framework of the regional social development program Zarechnoye JV has constructed a 4.4 km long bypass road at Timur station and an 18.2 km long highway near Shaulder's regional centre with a bridge across the Arys River.
The Company helps local public authorities with repair and maintenance of the social infrastructure in the Kok-Sarai, Timur and Shaulder settlements. Under license-contractual terms Zarechnoye annually transfers monetary funds to Kazatomprom-Demeu, which constructs social infrastructure objects in the Otrar region. The company also renders material aid to orphanage №3 and a center for social rehabilitation of children and teenagers in Shymkent city and a regional boarding-school in Shaulder.
