Press release on activity results of NAC Kazatomprom JSC for the Ist quarter of 2011

In the first quarter of 2011 uranium production volume of the Republic of Kazakhstan made up4,443.7 tU (which is 9% more in comparison with the same period of the previous year).
Production volume of NAC Kazatomprom JSC reached 2,543.4 tU, what 100% corresponds with the stated plan.
According to the preliminary estimates, in the first quarter of 2011 consolidated net income of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, made up KZT 13,695.2 mln., what is two times more than in the corresponding period of 2010. Such income growth was conditioned by uranium production sales volume increase and sharp rise in spot prices in the beginning of the year.
NAC Kazatomprom JSC is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for export of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants, special purpose equipment, technologies and double-use materials. The main activities of the company are: geological exploration, uranium production, manufacture of nuclear fuel cycle products, reactor construction, nuclear power plants, production of construction materials, the electric energy sector, scientific support of production and social welfare and training of personnel.
