Kazatomprom plans to implement four assets through an Open Tendering in 2017

There remain four assets, which we plan to implement this year and focus our attention on uranium business and nuclear energy. The Investor Day was organized by Samruk Kazyna JSC, which is the sole shareholder of NAC Kazatomprom JSC. The purpose of the event is to tell about the current status of the privatization program, as well as to provide investors with some of the Fund's assets.

According to the head of the national nuclear company, Caustic JSC, a producer of caustic soda, as well as so-called solar assets, enterprises for the production of metallurgical silicon, photovoltaic cells and photovoltaic modules - the KazSilicon Metallurgical Combine , Kazakhstan Solar Silicon LLP and Astana Solar LLP will be realized by the open two-stage tendering this year. These assets are non-core for the company.

State supports solar assets in the form of a quota allocation with a total capacity of 250 MW at a tariff of 34.61 KZT / kWh for solar power plants using photovoltaic modules manufactured in Kazakhstan. As for Caustic, since Kazatomprom is one of the main consumers of caustic soda, after the company's implementation, the company will continue cooperation and is ready to consider the conclusion of long-term contracts, " - said Askar Zhumagaliyev.

Today NAC Kazatomprom JSC successfully cooperates with leading Uranium mining companies of Japan, Canada, France, China and Russia, participating in 11 joint ventures. According to the results of 2016 year Kazakhstan retains world leadership in mining uranium, and net profit of Kazatomprom first amounted to 108 billion tenge. In comparison with the year 2015 corporate governance rating of Kazatomprom increased from 78% to 82.6%.
