Special meeting of the Commission of the CIS member states on using of atomic energy for peaceful purposes took place in pavilion The World of nuclear energy, Astana Expo 2017.
Representatives of the Commission, members of Executive committee of the CIS, representatives of ministries of energy of RoK, Belarus, Armenia, Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, and companies of nuclear industry of the CIS, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, GC Rosatom and others attended the event. During the meeting, issues of current situation and perspectives of using of nuclear energy were discussed.
International scientific and practical conference "Opportunities to implement projects of increased safety innovative reactor systems of medium and low power in the CIS countries" with the participation of leading specialists of the nuclear industry of the CIS countries took place.
During the event experts of design centers held presentations on innovative types of reactors. The topic of the safety of modern nuclear systems was discussed in detail. In particular, the speakers emphasized that at present a high degree of safety is possessed by reactors of medium and low power.
As a result of presentations, an exchange of views between domestic and foreign experts of the nuclear industry took place.
