100 children of Kazatomprom employees attend an educational camp

Kazatomprom held a send-off ceremony for 100 children of the Company’s employees, who were selected to spend their summer holidays at the IQanat High School of Burabay educational camp.

To be eligible for selection, schoolchildren in grades 8-10 participated in a competition on history of Kazakhstan, mathematics, geography, English, and awareness of Kazatomprom’s operations. Thanks to the introduction of a rural quota, the company managed to ensure equal opportunities for all participants in the social project.

“Today, 100 schoolchildren gathered here – children of our employees who showed outstanding results at all the tests. Congratulations on your first victory. Enjoy your summer holidays. We will develop this project in the future, making an unconditional contribution to the development of future generations and the prosperity of our country”, said Meirzhan Yussupov, Kazatomprom’s CEO.

In the next ten days, the children will enjoy their time in Burabay, attending artificial intelligence, financial literacy and mobilography workshops. The children will also have an opportunity to study English with teachers who are native speakers. Master classes in golf, pottery, archery, horse riding and ebru will also available.

To foster children's interest in the nuclear industry, the summer camp programme includes meetings with leading Kazatomprom specialists, who will educate the children about the Company’s activities in the social and cultural sphere. Also, according to the established tradition, as part of Open Talk the project participants will talk with social media influencers and IQanat High School of Burabay trustees, whose life stories can inspire children to become high achievers.

Career guidance lessons are another feature of the summer camp. The children will be advised on choosing a profession, learn how to write motivation letters and learn about the rules and criteria for admission to the best universities in the country and the world.

IQanat High School of Burabay project initiated last year aiming to increase children's interest in the domestic nuclear industry and has already became a key component in the social and educational spheres. Recently, the project won third place in the Golden Hephaestus national competition in the Best Social Project of the Year category, confirming its significance and influence on the future generation.
