In order to improve reading literacy and interest in science among schoolchildren, Kazatomprom financed a subscription to the National Geographic Qazaqstan for 155 schools in the regions of its presence for 2024–2025.
The project's goal is to provide schoolchildren with access to high quality, relevant global content in the official language, to promote the development of scientific thinking, and to broaden schoolchildren’s horizons.
National Geographic Qazaqstan Magazine publishes materials on the latest advances in science, nature, ecology, culture, and technology. Given the limited access to modern popular science literature in Kazakh language, this project is particularly important.
The implementation of the initiative directly supports the goals of the program “Reading School” (“Okityn Mektep”), helps to replenish the collections of school libraries with relevant publications and provides both schoolchildren and teachers with additional educational resources.
