A senior delegation from China led by Mr. Wang Jiandong, Deputy General Manager of CGNPC Uranium Resources Company Limited (CGNPC-URC), and Mr. Cheung Ching Ngai, Deputy General Manager of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant, visited the Ulba-FA LLP fuel assembly manufacturing plant. Ulba-FA operates as a strategic joint venture between Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC (a subsidiary of NAC Kazatomprom JSC) and CGNPC-URC. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate ongoing collaboration and review the production of fuel assemblies (FA), which serve as finished nuclear fuel delivered to nuclear power plants in China.
During the visit, the delegation toured the joint venture’s production facilities, reviewed the key stages of fuel assembly manufacturing, and evaluated the company's quality management system, which ensures comprehensive control across all production phases.
As an end user of Ulba-FA products, representatives of the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant highly praised the facility's production organization, confirming that the manufactured fuel assemblies meet rigorous international quality standards.

Ulba-FA LLP is the sole manufacturer of nuclear fuel assemblies in Central Asia. Established in 2015, the joint venture commenced commercial production of nuclear fuel in 2021 utilizing technology from the French company Framatome.
Between 2022 and 2025, the plant completed 16 fuel assembly deliveries to China. Fifteen batches have already been loaded into Chinese nuclear reactors and remain in successful operation, validating the high quality and reliability of Ulba-FA’s products.
Following the visit, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding collaboration in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
