On 18 October, NAC Kazatomprom JSC and the RSE National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed an Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation.
The Agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Kazatomprom, Mazhit Sharipov, and the General Director of the National Nuclear Center, Erlan Batyrbekov. The meeting was also attended by the Chief NFC Officer of Kazatomprom, Dosbolat Sarymsakov, Chief Operations Officer of Kazatomprom, Aslan Bulekbay and Deputy General Director for Science of the National Nuclear Center, Vladimir Vityuk.
Within the framework of this cooperation agreement, the two entities will share scientific and technical expertise for projects in the field of atomic energy, physical calculations on the criticality of nuclear installations and transport packaging, and research work and testing related to advanced materials and nuclear fuel components. In addition, the parties will discuss and advance the development of technologies for radioactive waste management, radio-ecological monitoring and investigation of territories and lands (including post-reclamation monitoring of reclaimed land, optimization of liquidation and reclamation planning, and work related to the life cycle of nuclear facilities). The areas of cooperation will also include research related to radiation safety and environmental protection of nuclear facilities.
