Press release Askar Zhumagaliyev has visited Ulba Metallurgical Plant

Askar Zhumagaliyev, CEO of Kazatomprom JSC, has visited Ulba Metallurgical Plant. The plant has become one of the first subsidiaries of Kazatomprom visited by the Head of Kazatomprom after his appointment to this post.

The Head of National Atomic Company visited uranium and tantalum production units where he was thoroughly acquainted with technology of uranium and tantalum production, Mashzavod LLP, exposition of Exhibition & Information Center of the company.

During this visit Kazatomprom’s CEO gave priority to the prospects for Ulba Plant development and this was discussed at the meeting of Askar Zhumagaliyev with senior management of Ulba Plant. As it was noted by the Head of the Company the future of the plant is connected with a number of projects among which setting up of fuel assemblies manufacturing and construction of conversion facility. At the meeting the priority tasks aimed at implementation of these projects were defined.

The Company’s Head emphasized that UMP had a strong potential and it played a significant role in Kazatomprom’s plans for implementation of the Holding’s development strategy.

Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC – is one of the recognized world leaders in manufacturing of fuel pellets from uranium dioxide for Nuclear Power Plants and the products containing beryllium, tantalum and niobium.
